UVA Children’s Specialties Ranked Among the Top in the Nation

U.S. News & World Report ranked four UVA Children’s Hospital Specialties among the top 50 in the country in their 2017-2018 “Best Children’s Hospitals” guide. The specialties that were recognized are: Neonatology (30th), Orthopedics (41st), Diabetes and Endocrinology (34th), and Cardiology and Heart Surgery (44th).

In order to determine hospitals who give the highest quality care, U.S. News considers the following criteria: patient safety and outcomes (including preventive efforts); advanced, specialized clinics and programs for children; access to clinical trials and research to improve care; commitment to quality improvement; and a national survey of pediatric specialists.

Many thanks to our incredible doctors for all their hard work to help our kids and for continually showing that nothing done for children is ever wasted.
