Why should you contribute to #10Kin1day? To help kids like Charlie! Charlie was delivered via emergency c section ten hours into her twenty sixth week of gestation weighing only one pound eleven ounces. After spending three months in the NICU, she came home for the very first time. Despite initial optimistic predictions, Charlie's challenges weren't over. She had motor, speech, and feeding delays due to a handful of diagnoses. At UVA, Charlie receives medical care and therapies that have allowed for extraordinary progress. Charlie likes playing outside, dancing, singing, jumping on beds, and climbing on furniture. None of these things would be possible without UVA. Although Charlie faces challenges she continues to grow and improve every day, and that girl cannot wait for MadiTHON!
