Students at James Madison University are fundraising for kids treated at our hospital, with a goal to raise $10,000 in one day. MadiTHON is James Madison University’s annual 12-hour Miracle Network Dance Marathon. Each year, hundreds of participants commit to staying on their feet for 12-hours to raise money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

#10Kin1dayOne of our miracle kids, Raygan, was diagnosed at 21 months old, with high risk Neuroblastoma Stage IV and UVA SAVED HER LIFE. Ray Ray is HONORED to be a MIRCLE KID for CMN and celebrate LIFE everyday. Her grandmother says that "MADITHON offers love and support for our children, they raise money for much needed treatment options for our children" that help save lives every day. The donations UVA Children's Hospital recieves from events like MadiTHON help fund necessary treatment that saves hundreds of children's lives and keeps families happy and whole. Why should you contribute to #10Kin1day? To help kids like Charlie! Charlie was delivered via emergency c section ten hours into her twenty sixth week of gestation weighing only one pound eleven ounces. After spending three months in the NICU, she came home for the very first time. Despite initial optimistic predictions, Charlie's challenges weren't over. She had motor, speech, and feeding delays due to a handful of diagnoses. At UVA, Charlie receives medical care and therapies that have allowed for extraordinary progress. Charlie likes playing outside, dancing, singing, jumping on beds, and climbing on furniture. None of these things would be possible without UVA. Although Charlie faces challenges she continues to grow and improve every day, and that girl cannot wait for MadiTHON! http://events.dancemarathon.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=1303
