Kids helping kids

Cousins Quincy, Andrew, Allistair, Caroline, and Scarlett on lemonade stand day.

Some special visitors made a trip to the Battle Building at University of Virginia Children’s Hospital this week. The group, made up of five cousins, came to deliver a donation to CMN programs at UVA to help kids just like them! They recently held a lemonade stand sale, offering drinks and treats to their community in exchange for donations.  They called on friends and family, and even stood by the highway to bring in customers (with adult supervision, of course!). The cousins’ connection to the hospital and CMN stems from a family friend, Anna, who found herself battling ALL (leukemia) in 2011 at just 18 months old.  Anna is a CMN Miracle Kid ambassador for UVA and is doing wonderful these days!

UVA Miracle Kid, Anna.

The impact that Anna’s cancer, and the care she received, had on the family has landed a UVA a special place in their hearts.  The cousins enjoy this annual event to honor Anna and raise money to help other kids fighting cancer like she did!

Waving down customers!
